Walsh Park

Slievekeale Road, Waterford

Project Value: €330K

The East Bank of the Waterford GAA home grounds in Waterford City was re-developed to allow greater spectator numbers on a safe yet effective embankment. New reinforced concrete retaining walls to support the higher, re-graded, structure abutting neighbouring residential properties meant the installation of new boundary fencing to individual gardens and liaison with the many private stakeholders along the route of the works. Construction of an amenities building, coupled with ongoing sports events at the venue throughout the duration of the works made it a challenging, yet enjoyable project.

Key Elements:

  • Project Supervisor Construction Stage role

  • Phased construction – Ongoing events at the stadium

  • Reinforced concrete and blockwork retaining walls

  • Full amenities building construction

  • Civil and Structural

  • Co-ordination with a large number of stakeholders
